Holmewood Kennels

Previously a quarantine kennels, Holmewood has the advantage of having large individual runs with a distance of at least 5 feet between runs, this allows your dog the freedom to be outside able to see all that is going on all around, without risk of intimidation from the dog next door. The luxury tiled kennels with underfloor heating are provided with a selection of beds available (vet bed is used as standard!) to keep your dog warm and comfortable. When you arrive we will check booking forms and confirm that you understand the terms of boarding. You will need a vaccination certificate with vaccinations for kennel cough for pvdhl plus any booster vaccinations. Each boarder has a personal record card, kept attached to the run, which is updated throughout each day while they stay with us on which we will keep a record of each dog's feeding patternm medication (if required) and health. We also have our own veterinary surgeon who will visit us when needed. We have Security fencing all round the Boarding Kennels. Everyday work in a kennel begins early and goes on until it is finished. We clean first using "Trigene" disinfectant to ensure thorough cleaning of pens and food bowls

Kennels Routine

We supply top quality vet bed for your dog or you can bring your own to make your dog feel more at home. In our kennels we have underfloor heating to keep your pets cosy and comfortable. When the morning cleaning tidying and exercising is completed the dogs will be fed. We supply VHC Super Premium Kibble but if you wish you can supply the brand of food you normally use. Dogs are fed according to your instructions, but twice a day is the norm - in the morning and in the evening. Pets are used to being let out first thing in the morning, so that is the first task, then 2 - 3 times throughout the day we go out to play with them - when they enjoy chasing a ball or simply running around and sniffing in our large, secure, grassed area - plus each kennel has its own attached outdoor run and dogs enjoy just watching the world go by. (Dogs are kept separate from each other at all times.)

Dog Listening

If the dog does not elect you as the leader it believes that it must be leader of the pack. What's more in that situation, the humans with which they live unintentionally send out signals using body language, that elect them to the role over and over again. It is Jan's belief that all of the problems with our dogs are caused by this misconception, that they, rather than us their owners, are the leaders of their pack. Using Jan's methods of Amichien Bonding we can correct this behaviour without pain, bullying, or gadgets! Holmewood Boarding Training Kennels Ltd

Holmewood Kennels has been operating for 18 months now - the refurbishment programme is almost complete with 30 heated kennels with tiled floors.
